Condition is Critical

Before selling your used books to BookJingle, it is important to ensure they are each in good (or better!) “used” condition. Good “used” condition means that the cover can show some wear, but must still be in usable condition. This also means all pages must be intact and the binding must not be loose. Less than 25% of pages should be highlighted or underlined (textbooks may contain up to 50% of highlighting or underlining). If your books meet these guidelines, you’re probably in good shape!

However, if your books have any of the following defects, BookJingle is not able to accept them:

• Water or Moisture damage
• Staining to pages
• Missing, loose, or torn pages
• Books with odors (smoke, must, etc.)
• Paperback books with torn covers
• Workbooks or manuals with answers written in the blanks

It is very important that your books meet these guidelines. If you send your books, and they do not meet the criteria for good “used” condition or possess one of the above defects, BookJingle will not be able to buy your item. The item or items will be held for 15 days, and returned at your expense. After 15 days, the item will either be destroyed or recycled. But this doesn’t have to happen! Taking just a few extra minutes to confirm that your used books are of the best quality will provide you with the best experience possible! All you need to do is make certain your books meet the above criteria, disregard any books that do not, and enter the ISBNs for those that do. Then box them up, ship them, and get paid. Done and done!
