Individuals who wish to utilize BookJingle.com must read and agree to the following agreement and terms of service.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password, and for restricting access to your account, and you agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account or password. If you are under 18, you may use BookJingle only with involvement and permission of a parent or guardian. BookJingle reserves the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, remove or edit content, or cancel orders at their sole discretion

By registering on our site and creating an order you are representing you have full legal rights to the items you are selling to BookJingle.

All books must be in good used condition.  The cover can show some wear, but must still be in good overall condition. All pages must be included and the binding must be tight. 

BookJingle will be solely responsible for the determination of the condition, type, and number of each book that was received.  BookJingle reserves the right to adjust any prior offer based upon condition, type, or the number of books that were received.

We cannot accept books with the following defects:

• Water damage
• Staining to pages
• Missing pages
• Loose pages
• Books with an odor (smoke, musty, etc.)
• Torn pages
• Paperback books with torn covers
• Workbooks or Manuals with answers written in the blanks

BookJingle accepts withdrawn library books. We accept books with writing, highlighting, and underlining without any reduction to the original offer price if less than 25% of the pages are affected.  Books that contain such markings on more than 25% of the pages may receive a reduction to the original offer price or the item may be rejected.  Workbooks or manuals must not have any answers written in the blanks.

The following types of books may result in a reduction of the offer price:

• Book club editions
• Missing dust jackets
• Excessive writing, underlining, or highlighting
• Excessive wear or defects

Also, BookJingle cannot purchase the following types of books:

• Advanced Reading Copies
• International editions
• Uncorrected proofs
• Galley copies
• Instructor or Teacher’s editions of textbooks
• Reader’s Digest Books
• Books without an ISBN
• Magazines
• Encyclopedia sets
• Partial sets or sets with missing volumes
• Pornography
• Books on the Occult
• Books with front cover torn to indicate disposal
• Any books marked “not for resale”
• Items with no ISBN printed anywhere on the item
• Calendars

BookJingle’s automated offering system is unable to flag the book types above, so it is possible offers may be made for certain items even though we are unable to purchase them. It is your responsibility to understand the types of books we are not able to purchase.

Should BookJingle reject any books that do not meet the above criteria; we will notify you (via your registered email address) of what books were rejected and the reason.  We will hold these books for 15 days.   We will be glad to return the books after receiving payment for the cost of return shipping.  All return shipping costs will be the responsibility of the customer. If your items are unclaimed within 15 days, we will recycle, donate, or dispose of the item in some other manner.

If we receive books that are not included on the packing slip, BookJingle will hold these books for 15 days or add an offer amount to your order (if we are currently purchasing that title). We will be glad to return the books we are not currently purchasing after receiving payment for the cost of return shipping. All return shipping costs will be the responsibility of the customer.

BookJingle is not responsible for books lost or damaged in transit to our warehouse.  Although BookJingle provides a free shipping label, we are unable to guarantee your shipment against loss or damage.  We recommend that you purchase insurance or delivery confirmation (at your own cost) to protect yourself against any loss or damage.

BookJingle will not sell, lease, or otherwise disseminate your personal information. Users agree to allow BookJingle to send emails and newsletters regarding promotions, offers, or other items related to BookJingle. Each message will contain instructions on how to opt-out of future emails.

BookJingle will not tolerate attempts to misuse or abuse the website. This includes but is not limited to creating multiple orders to sell the same title, circumventing quantity thresholds, creating multiple accounts, selling items that you have no legal right to, using the website in any malicious way to defraud, commit theft or cause damage to BookJingle or any third party. All of the above acts will result in the immediate suspension of your account and potential non-payment of the applicable orders.

BookJingle customers who have high order defect rates may have their accounts suspended or banned.
